Alert systems.
Alert systems
An integral part of all modern security systems for crowded places, i.e. shopping centers, office buildings, educational institutions, etc., are sound alert systems. In normal mode, alert systemsare used to transmit background music or announcements of an official or advertising nature, however, the priority purpose of the warning system is to promptly inform people about a fire or other emergency situations.
In everyday life, we very often encounter the work of such systems. Sound advertising and background music in a large department store, public address systems at train stations and airports, broadcasting networks of stadiums and hotels — this is far from a complete list of examples of the use of warning systems.
As a rule, any notification system is initially designed taking into account everyday use, such as broadcasting background music and service messages. In the event of an emergency, people are automatically and with absolute priority provided with a voice alert according to a predetermined algorithm. The list of functional capabilities of such systems is quite large, so each set of equipment for building sound and voice alert systems is designed for a specific object and solves its own problems.
The main document in the field of warning systems is the Code of Practice 3.13130.2009 «Fire protection systems. Warning and evacuation control systems for people in case of fire. Fire safety requirements». According to SP 3.13130.2009, a voice fire alarm system must be installed in almost any building with an area of 1000 square meters and more than 3 floors.
Depending on the functional characteristics, warning and evacuation control systems (WECS) for people in case of fire are divided into 5 (five) types:
- Type 1 is characterized by the presence of a sound notification method (bells, tinted signal, etc.);
- Type 2 is characterized by the presence of a sound notification method and light indicators «Exit». Notification must be made in all rooms simultaneously;
- The 3rd type is characterized by a speech method of notification (recording and transmission of special texts) and the presence of light indicators «Exit». The order of notification is regulated: first the service personnel, and then everyone else in a specially developed order;
- The 4th type is characterized by a speech method of notification, the presence of light indicators of the direction of movement and «Exit». Communication between the notification zone and the control room must be ensured. The order of notification is regulated: first the service personnel, and then everyone else in a specially developed order;
- The 5th type is characterized by a speech method of notification, the presence of light indicators of the direction of movement and «Exit». Light indicators of the direction of movement must be with separate switching for each zone. Communication of the notification zone with the control room must be ensured. The order of notification is regulated: first the service personnel, and then everyone else according to a specially developed order. Full automation of the warning system control and the possibility of implementing many options for organizing evacuation from each warning zone are ensured.
- Types 1 and 2 of the fire alarm systems are the simplest and use only light and sound notification methods.
- Types 3, 4 and 5 of the fire alarm systems use all notification methods (speech, sound and light). They are characterized by dividing the building into fire alarm zones, as well as introducing feedback between the zones and the fire control room. In addition to the lighted «Exit» boards, they use static and dynamic direction indicators during evacuation.
The most complex are the 5th type of SOUE. They must provide the ability to implement several options for organizing evacuation from each notification zone, as well as coordinated control from one fire control post of all building systems associated with ensuring the safety of people in the event of a fire.
To create notification systems at the protected facilityThe Rubezh company supplies the security market with 1st and 2nd level fire alarm sound devices OPOP 2-35 — sirens, light and sound OPOP 124-7 — combined, light OPOP 1-8 and OPOP 1-8M — «Exit» signs, direction arrows. These devices can be used both in conventional threshold fire alarm systems and in addressable analogue systems «RUBEZH».
If a level 3 notification system is required at the protected facility, where a voice notification method is required, then for these purposes the Rubezh company produces MRO-2 voice notification modules. These modules are part of the RUBEZH addressable-analogue system, where the building is divided into zones.
To build modern type 4 SOUE, it is possible to use the sound equipment for broadcasting, voice fire and emergency notification of the META scientific and production enterprise together with the RUBEZH addressable fire alarm and fire extinguishing system.
The META company serially produces the META 7122 broadcasting power amplifier, designed for use in fire alarm systems when combined with a fire alarm system and a civil defense and emergency warning system, evacuation management in educational institutions, shopping, medical and sports complexes, in civil buildings, structures and various institutions with a large number of people, and also allows you to create a local broadcasting, broadcasting and dispatch communications node.
Also, the addressable equipment of the Rubezh company is used with modular notification systems manufactured by the META company, installed in 19” racks.
For the convenience of designers of fire alarm systems, specialists from the Meta and Rubezh companies have developed standard connection diagrams for the equipment of two systems — the RUBEZH addressable fire alarm system and the META company's voice notification system.
