We turned to Yanina Dudina, Director of the Department of Hotel Systems, with questions, the answers to which would model the situation on the IT market.
AZ: Which information technology product is the most relevant today, in your opinion?
Yanina Dudina:Solving business problems with the help of information technologies. The set of services we offer for the corporate sector solves the problems of accounting, analysis, data integration, delivery and integration of information. For a large corporate customer, we solve the whole range of issues of increasing work efficiency.
But the priority direction is the automation of business processes of enterprises. For example, the implementation of electronic document management systems, ERP and CRM systems.
Today, such a direction as complex automation of hotel facilities is developing very quickly. And here we take on the full range of automation: from the supply of various equipment to the implementation of information systems and the integration of all components into a single information space.
AZ: «Reksoft» created the «Edelweiss/Medallion» system, which is installed in many Russian hotels. What is the reason for such popularity?
Yanina Dudina:In the ability to strictly control the actions of personnel: it identifies their actions and allows access only to the information and operations that are necessary for them within the limits of their official powers. And the hotel manager can track the financial actions of employees at any time. And since certain actions of personnel (removal of a reservation, relocation, etc.) are often critical for the hotel, then when trying to carry out such an operation, the ACS requires choosing from a generated list the reason that forced them to perform this action. That is, the system also carries out so-called “foolproofing”.
“Edelweiss/Medallion” is also popular because it was developed taking into account the Russian specifics of the hotel business.
AZ:By the way, does this system provide communication with engineering equipment and constant monitoring of energy consumption?
Yanina Dudina:The modern approach to designing hotel complexes and business centers is to find a solution to seemingly mutually exclusive problems: to provide maximum comfort and… to save energy resources. And this problem is solved by a well-thought-out selection of engineering systems capable of changing parameters in automatic or semi-automatic mode. Such complexes are controlled by specialized software products. And the most promising software products are those capable of working with engineering equipment exchanging information via open network protocols.
AZ: Over the past 15 years, something has probably changed in the strategy, but something has remained?
Yanina Dudina: We started with deliveries of automated control systems. But we did not build a business strategy on this, but constantly increased the volume of offers. And now we offer global integrated solutions, from the design of structured cabling systems and power grids to the commissioning of the entire complex.
Our strategy for expanding the volume of offers remains unchanged. Moreover, we are “expanding” both vertically, constantly improving the Edelweiss/Medallion automated control system, and horizontally – we design electrical networks, and automate spa centers and medical institutions. And, of course, we are expanding our presence in the regions.
