Universal outdoor camera Smartec STC-3580 with 700 TVL and 0.001 lux.

The vandal-proof STC-3580 ULTIMATE model by Smartec is designed for use in video systems with increased requirements for video sensitivity and resolution. This camera produces a color image with a resolution of up to 600 TVL at illumination of up to 0.15 lux, and at lower illumination it automatically switches to black-and-white mode, in which its sensitivity reaches 0.001 lux, and the resolution is up to 700 TVL. The STC-3580 ULTIMATE produces exemplary quality video due to the use of two revolutionary technologies: a Sony SuperHAD II CCD matrix and a new generation DSP processor. In addition, it is equipped with a varifocal lens with ARD and a housing with a built-in heater and a dust and moisture protection rating of IP66, allowing it to be used at temperatures from -40°C to +50°C.

The latest DSP processor provides the STC-3580 with the ability to form high-quality video images even in non-standard surveillance conditions. This camera has an ultra-high resolution of 600 TVL in the «day» mode and 700 TVL in the «night» mode, allowing you to receive video with the highest possible degree of detail and, accordingly, solve the problems of recognition and identification of objects in low light. Based on the DSP processor, the STC-3580 ULTIMATE implements such functions as digital noise reduction, image stabilization, inversion of bright highlights, compensation for backlight, frame accumulation function, etc.

High sensitivity of the new SuperHAD CCD II matrix
The STC-3580 demonstrates exemplary sensitivity and resolution due to the use of the latest Sony CCD matrix, which has expanded the camera's dynamic range, reduced noise levels, improved color rendering and balanced spectral sensitivity, ensuring the camera's operation at illumination levels down to 0.001 lux. At the same time, SuperHAD CCD II has retained the high resistance to backlighting characteristic of previous versions of Sony matrices — even with prolonged observation under intense lighting, the color separation filter remains resistant to fading. In addition, the developers of the new matrix have managed to reduce image defocusing, which usually occurs when lenses without IR correction are installed on cameras.

Outdoor video surveillance day and night
Like all ULTIMATE series models, the STC-3580 has a switchable IR filter that switches the camera from color to black and white mode and back. The camera demonstrates a minimum sensitivity of up to 0.15 lux in the «day» mode and up to 0.001 lux in the «night» mode (at 50IRE/F1.2) due to the use of a SuperHAD II CCD matrix. To prevent spontaneous switching of the STC-3580 between color and black and white modes, with short-term changes in the illumination level, you can set a day/night transition delay from 5 to 60 seconds.

Clear images in extreme low light conditions
When the DSS function is activated, the camera automatically activates the frame accumulation mode in night conditions or twilight and saves a clear, noise-free image on the monitor screen. The DSS mode allows you to significantly increase the sensitivity of the camera for monitoring static objects in extremely low light conditions. In this case, in the STC-3580 menu, you can select the number of frames to be summed in the range from 2 to 256. For example, if 256 frames are summed, the camera will transmit the image in black and white mode (50IRE, F1.2) with a minimum illumination of 0.00004 lux.

Protection from vibrations and bright light
The digital image stabilization (DIS) function is used to eliminate image shaking on the monitor screen, which may occur when the STC-3580 is operating outdoors, when gusts of wind or passing vehicles can cause camera vibrations. Thanks to the highlight inversion (HLC) function, the camera darkens particularly bright areas of the frame, which significantly improves the visibility of adjacent areas of the image. This STC-3580 mode is also useful for recognizing license plates of cars moving with their headlights on.

Always high-quality video and saving disk space when recording
Thanks to the latest DSP processor, the camera performs effective noise reduction (DNR) and forms a clear image even in low light conditions. In addition to improving video quality, the DNR function can save up to 70% of the DVR's disk space, since noise is perceived by it as additional image elements and cannot be effectively compressed. When setting up the STC-3580, the installer is given the opportunity to select one of 32 noise reduction levels.

Ease of use and ease of setup
The STC-3580's built-in 2.8-11 mm varifocal lens with automatic iris adjustment allows you to adjust the required viewing angle within a wide range, which provides freedom in choosing the location of the camera and the distance to the object of observation. On-screen menus are configured using the navigation buttons located on the side of the camera body. Using these buttons, you can select the necessary settings: automatic gain and white balance adjustment modes, digital noise reduction level, contour sharpness enhancement, etc.
