SHB-4300. Samsung low temperature thermal housings.
SHB-4300. Low-temperature thermal housings Samsung Samsung Techwin has released two new models of low-temperature housings for standard-design TV cameras.
The new models are the result of many years of work by Samsung engineers and analysis of the CCTV market. The devices ensure the operation of TV cameras in the temperature range from -50…+50 degrees C and have IP66 protection.
SHB-4300H1 is designed for 24VAC power supply, and the TV camera is also used with the same voltage. SHB-4300H2 and the TV camera installed in the housing are powered by 220VAC.
As can be seen from the illustrations, the housings have two heaters — one is installed on the glass and prevents it from freezing, the second is on the platform for mounting the camera. Additionally, the housing has a fan.
It is important to note that the platform for the camera on which the heater is mounted is separated from the body of the thermal housing, which eliminates excessive heat dissipation. In addition, the thermal relays are located directly behind the camera installation platform, which increases the accuracy of the heating and cooling system.
SHB-4300H1 and SHB-4300H2 are made of impact-resistant aluminum. A wall bracket is included. The permissible overall dimensions of the installed camera can be 100 (w) x 80 (h) x 383 (d). In fact, the housings are universal — they allow you to install analog and IP cameras, as well as cameras with zoom lenses. It is also worth noting the convenience of the housing design. The cover opens upward, which allows you to conveniently install and service the camera.
Samsung security video surveillance system for TalkTalk
Leading broadband provider TalkTalk's new London headquarters features state-of-the-art CCTV designed and installed by specialist security company Keyways.
TalkTalk purchased a new building, moving 850 staff into a seven-storey building. A new CCTV system was needed. TalkTalk engaged CCTV, fire and security alarm solutions specialist Keyways to help.
Michael Greaves, director of Keyways' Altrincham operations, said the CCTV system was highly effective despite the challenges posed by the building's design. «The building has a large area of glass, so we had to specify cameras with high dynamic range to ensure we could get high-quality, high-resolution colour images even on the sunniest days.»
Based on market research, Michael Greaves decided to source all of the cameras from a single supplier – Samsung. “We chose the SID-560 fixed dome camera to address the issue of direct sunlight and reflections. The SID-560 has a color resolution of 560 TVL, but more importantly, it has an impressive wide dynamic range (WDR) function, which is very effective in conditions with strong backlighting.”
Six SID-560 cameras were installed where they would be aimed directly at the glass areas, while nineteen SID-370 fixed dome cameras were used to monitor other parts of the building. The SID-370 is a fixed dome camera with a 37x zoom lens. Keyways also installed two Samsung SIR-60 cameras with built-in IR LED illumination, allowing operators to record any activity in the darkened areas of the fire doors on the staircases at night.
Michael added: “An additional challenge was the need to ensure that it looked good.” “As their head office is in the building, TalkTalk wanted the equipment to be installed in a very neat manner. The challenge for us was that there were no false ceilings to hide the cables in. However, the Samsung cameras can be fitted with galvanised flush-mount boxes that can be mounted in ceilings and walls. It was a lot of work for our installers, but the end result is a system that not only works well, but looks good too.”
Security personnel located in the building's reception area monitor video from all cameras 24/7. For evidence purposes, video is recorded and stored on two Samsung SVR-1645 digital video recorders, each capable of recording video with a resolution of 4CIF (704×576). The SVR-1645 also provides the ability to record audio from sixteen channels. The use of multiple compression algorithms in the SVR-1645 enables real-time multi-stream surveillance, while the centralized video system management software (SVM-S1), supplied with the digital video recorders, allows all connected Samsung equipment to be integrated into a single network.
Regarding the standard requirements for a CCTV system, TalkTalk Branch Manager Jill Tucker said: “We required a professional CCTV system that would be a valuable aid to our facility’s security team in creating a safe working environment for our staff and protecting our property. I am pleased to note that the equipment recommended and installed by Keyways fully complies with the agreed criteria.”
The CCTV system is connected to a Mifare access control system to identify and allow authorized personnel and visitors into all areas of the building and prevent unwanted persons from entering beyond the reception area.
