Secrets of rapid response.
Secrets of rapid response.
Who?
Let's start with the fact that the decision to choose a security company can only be made by the business manager. Delegation in this case is completely unacceptable. Firstly, only the manager is able to assess the risks and determine the expenses he is willing to bear. Secondly, everything related to business security should remain a secret for employees. Start communicating with a representative of the security company with standard questions. Inquire about the history — how long ago the company was created, what companies cooperate with it. Ask to see the licenses. Check if the security company's license has expired — it is issued for the first time for three years, then renewed every five years. Find out if the security guards have a permit for weapons. You may be objected to the fact that the Law on Private Detective and Security Activities allows the existence of security guards without a permit for weapons, if they do not work with weapons and special equipment. And if the facility does not imply armed security, it is wrong to require security guards with a private security guard certificate when protecting the facility without weapons and special equipment. This is true. But the licensing and permitting authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs think differently. During a police check, a security guard using special equipment who does not have a weapons permit with him will be suspended from work, and you will be left without protection.
When?
The most important characteristic of mobile rapid response teams is the time of arrival at the site after the alarm signal is generated. It directly depends on the number of mobile teams available to the security agency. A free mobile team should be located at a short distance, and the route of arrival should exclude traffic jams and other possible obstacles. Only an agency with two dozen mobile teams can guarantee arrival at the site within 5 minutes after receiving an alarm signal. No less important is the equipment used to receive alarm signals. A security company can use regular telephone channels, cellular communications or radios operating on an amateur frequency. Telephone channels have a large capacity. The reliability of information transmission depends on the condition of telephone cables, which is very poor in old areas. In the case of using cellular communications, the delay in response can be unpredictable — an SMS with an alarm signal may simply not arrive. Radio stations broadcast on an amateur frequency, taxi drivers use it. Firstly, this is fraught with interference. Secondly, it will not be difficult for a professional to jam the transmitter installed at your place, and the signal will not reach the security agency. Your security should have radios operating on a dedicated professional frequency, that is, over 100 MHz.
Where?
The technical component of the security console is the equipment of the protected premises and the system of centralized monitoring of objects, including signal transmission channels. Today, an apartment, cottage, store, office can be equipped with security equipment of any purpose and reliability level — from a traditional reed switch of an electric circuit to intelligent sensors and security television; and you can also install security, fire, emergency alarms, stationary and mobile panic buttons of various designs.
A security agency employee must take data to draw up an individual plan for protecting your property and clarify some details. Then you will be provided with a preliminary plan for protecting your property. The most dangerous areas are protected, such as windows, doorways, and ceilings. Sometimes it is necessary to protect the floor as well. You should not ignore the agency's advice on installation. For example, one mobile phone store located on the first floor of a residential building decided to save money by installing an alarm on the floor in the room where the mobile phones were stored. The apartment above the store was being renovated, and at the same time, an excavation was being made from the basement. Because of the renovation, it was almost impossible to hear extraneous sounds. As a result, a major theft was committed, during which no other sensors worked.
Particular attention should be paid to the liability clause in the contract with the security agency. If the security agency tells you that they do not bear any liability in the event of damage, then they are not worth your trust! Damage compensation must be paid by the security agency, and in full.
Choosing a decent security agency from the many that exist is really not easy. We hope that our advice will help you make the right choice.
