SAMSUNG TECHWIN.
The history of Samsung Techwin begins in 1977 with the creation of a division of the Samsung concern, which was called Samsung Precision Company and initially specialized in the production of high-tech equipment for the aerospace industry. The rapid development of the company was facilitated by both previously accumulated experience and developments, as well as large civil and military contracts, including, for example, the South Korean Ministry of Defense project to create the F-16 fighter. Within a few years, the scope of Samsung Precision Company's activities expanded significantly. The company began developing and producing semiconductor components, optical systems, digital photo and video cameras and equipment for security television systems, consistently offering consumers modern products of the highest quality. In 1987, the company was renamed Samsung Aerospace Industries, and in 2000, it received a new name, by which it is known to this day — Samsung Techwin. The name Samsung Techwin is based on two words: «technological» and «victory», which determine the direction of the company's development.
Great importance is attached to new developments, which are carried out in the research and development centers organized by the company. In the mid-1980s, research and development institutes were founded; in 1986 – the Samsung Economic Research Institute (SERI), and in 1987 – the Samsung Advanced Technology Institute (SAIT) and the Aerospace Institute. In addition, a large number of joint research centers and laboratories were created around the world, including in Russia. This allowed for even greater concentration on technologies that ensure the further development of Samsung Techwin. The joint work of these institutions helped the company strengthen its position in electronics, semiconductors, optical communication systems, the aerospace industry and in new technological areas, from nanotechnology to network architecture. In 2004, Samsung Techwin, together with a number of other South Korean companies, took part in a government project to create an intelligent video surveillance system and develop specialized robotic devices for protecting the borders of South Korea. One of the divisions of Samsung Techwin, specializing in the production of high-tech equipment for security television systems, began its independent activity in the early 90s, relying on many years of experience in previous developments. In 1991, the first black-and-white video surveillance camera was released under the Samsung Techwin trademark, and the history of the brand's rapid growth began. To date, Samsung Techwin products deservedly occupy one of the leading places in the market of equipment for digital video surveillance systems. The company's model range is represented by a wide range of video cameras and lenses, multiplexers, digital video recorders and network monitoring systems.
High-tech developments by Samsung Techwin allow creating devices with unrivaled capabilities. For example, a series of new generation video cameras based on a microprocessor with the Super Vision IV chipset, which combines all the latest achievements in the field of digital technologies: ultra-precise signal processing algorithms, an improved WDR system, a digital image stabilization system (DIS), an intelligent motion detector and a unique SSNR (Samsung Super Noise Reduction) noise reduction system that effectively eliminates noise and false contours. These cameras are able to surprise even the most demanding customer, transmitting a clean and clear color image regardless of changing lighting conditions. In addition, in the absence of unnecessary noise and distortion, the size of the resulting frames is significantly reduced and, accordingly, the space required for archiving records. Savings in the volume of hard drives of recording devices can be up to 70%.
The success of Samsung Techwin is based on a constant desire to move forward, following the development trends of the modern market and timely response to changes in demand. Today's consumer seeks to obtain the most advanced equipment that combines a variety of functions and at the same time ease of use, mobility and compactness, the ability to interact and be compatible. Based on more than 30 years of experience in the development of optical and video systems, Samsung Techwin offers the widest range of equipment for creating a digital video surveillance system of any complexity and configuration that best meets the individual requirements of each client.
