Household gas usage rules.
Household gas usage rules.
By following these requirements, you can significantly reduce the risk of a household gas explosion in your apartment. The smell of gas in a room is the main signal that a domestic gas explosion may occur.. In such a situation, it is necessary to immediately stop using gas appliances, turn off the gas taps, do not turn on or off electric lighting and electrical appliances, do not use electric bells, ventilate the room and call the emergency service at 0 4. Before the emergency team arrives, you are obliged to notify others about safety measures.
Rules for using gas at homerequire strict compliance of the premises in which household gas appliances are installed must comply with the requirements of regulatory documents. For the correct functioning and safe operation of gas appliances, it is necessary to ensure a constant flow of fresh air. The main source of household gas in a modern apartment is a gas stove, therefore, to ensure safety, you should follow the rules for using a gas stove. So, before turning on the stove for the first time, you should study the manufacturer's passport.
Safe operation of a gas stove is only possible in a well-ventilated room. Then make sure that all the taps in front of the upper burners and the oven burner are closed, and only then open the tap on the gas pipeline in front of the stove; bring the fire source to the edge of the burner and open the corresponding tap, while the gas should ignite in all the burner's fire holes. Before lighting the oven burner, open the door and ventilate it for 2 — 3 minutes.
Rules for using a gas stove
stipulate that gas combustion should proceed without flame breakaway and flashover, which lead not only to the formation of carbon monoxide, but also to the deformation and destruction of gas burner devices. Pay attention to the flame qualities: the flame should be elastic, bluish-violet in color, without a reddish-yellowish tint and no more than 2.5 cm high, with the tap fully open. The flame of the upper burners should only slightly touch the bottom of the installed cookware and not go beyond its edges, since its contact with cold surfaces leads to chemical underburning, followed by the formation of carbon monoxide. Safe operation of a gas stoveprovides for the installation of special burner rings with high ribs when using cookware with a bottom diameter significantly exceeding the diameter of the burner, it is necessary to install special burner rings with high ribs. The rings facilitate the flow of the required amount of air into the combustion zone and ensure the removal of combustion products.
Rules for the use of gas in the home prohibit the use of gas stoves for heating rooms and leaving them unattended. In the event of a sudden cessation of gas supply or spontaneous flame extinction, immediately close the gas valves and call the emergency gas service of JSC «Ryazangorgas» by phone 04.
After using the gas, close the taps on the gas stove and in front of it. Rules for using household gas stoves prohibit turning on the electric ignition of the stove when the burners on the table are removed. Do not allow the stove table to be flooded with water. Before cleaning or other maintenance operations, disconnect the stove from the power supply. The upper burners, their nozzles and other parts of the stove should be periodically (at least once a month) washed with soapy water or a weak soda solution.
Rules for using gas at home
- a lit match must be brought to the burner, then open the tap of the burner being turned on, while the gas must ignite in all the holes of the burner cap;
- gas combustion is considered normal if the burner flame is calm, bluish or violet. If the flame is smoky, with a yellowish tint, it is necessary to increase the air flow to the burner with the air regulator or reduce the gas supply by partially closing the tap on the burner;
- when using the stove, the burner rings are installed with the ribs facing up. A normal flame should not be visible from under the pan. If the flame is visible from under the pan, you should reduce it with the burner tap. Cookware with a wide bottom should be placed on special burner rings with high ribs, otherwise there may be poisoning from the products of incomplete gas combustion;
- when the contents of the cookware boil, the flame should be reduced; leaving a high flame will result in a useless increase in gas consumption without speeding up the cooking process. The flame is adjusted by turning the burner tap handle;
- before lighting the oven burner, the oven must be ventilated by sharply opening and closing the oven door (3-5 times);
- the stove must be kept clean, preventing it from becoming clogged (especially the burners) with spilled food, etc. If contaminated, the gas will not burn completely, releasing toxic carbon monoxide.
