The new generation of vibration detectors of the MURENA-2 series has a completely modernized algorithm for analyzing signals from a vibration cable sensor, a special triboelectric cable developed by YUMIRS. Such a cable is often called a «sensitive element» or CE.

The new version of the MURENA-2 program analyzes the entire frequency spectrum of the signal from a suspected intruder attempting to overcome a barrier on which a vibration cable (CE) is installed.

Without going into detail about the frequencies and orders of numerous digital filters, principles of adaptive setting of alarm thresholds, algorithms for cutting off false alarms, temperature compensation in real time, we will list the main actions of an intruder that are recorded by the MURENA-2 security system.

So, when installing MURENA-2 on a MAHAON type mesh fence, BETAFENCE and FENSYS GUARD panel fences, or SSCP welded mesh, the following are reliably recorded:
— attempt to climb over the fence;
— attempt to dig to a depth of about 1 meter (when a special vibration cable is driven into the ground);
— attempt to destroy the fence by sawing through the bars of the fence mesh;
— an attempt to destroy the barrier by “biting out” the passage.

This completely “cuts off” the provocative actions of the intruder: “single” blows or a “series” of blows on the barrier, as well as short-term shaking of the barrier.

The electronic unit «MURENA-2» has four independent inputs (channels) for connecting security sensors. A vibration cable up to 250 meters long can be connected to each input. Signals for each channel are processed independently of each other. Thus, the total length of the area protected by one unit «MURENA-2» is 500 meters. At the same time, it is possible to connect an additional 500 meters of vibration cables, for example, for installation on a canopy on top of the fence.

The «MURENA-2» is configured at the facility using a laptop or (remotely) using a desktop computer installed in the security room. The new version of the «MURENA-2» program has a more convenient interface for configuration. Real signals from the CE and alarm threshold levels are displayed in a special display window, and the settings for the time characteristics of the intruder's impact are made using a keyboard, touchpad or mouse.

According to the article by V. Masenkov1, the closest analogue of the «MURENA-2» detector is the vibration security device «Godograph-SM-V-1S».

When the MURENA-2 detector is operating, a log of alarm messages and a history of operator actions are generated. Thanks to this, the security system administrator has access to information for analyzing situations that arise at the protected facility.
