According to research by Park Associates, by 2010 about thirty million users in the United States plan to use network solutions for multimedia entertainment systems. However, only 4% of home network owners also use some kind of network devices for storing information.
When a user faces questions like: where to get free space to store all my disks; what will happen to my favorite disk after the 50th viewing or listening; what is this or that film about, who is its director and which actors play in it; and how to find a disk that you want to listen to or watch among all this quantity – that’s when the idea of buying and installing a multimedia server comes.
New product – Multimedia server MAX – released by AMX, will help to reliably and compactly store all your DVD and CD discs in one place, get convenient access to them, organize search, and also protect discs from damage. The user will be able to create a library that is convenient for him to manage. The search in the library of music and films can be conducted by various criteria: by genre, title, playback parameters, as well as many others (actors, director, performers, etc.).
The device allows you to play the contents of the library simultaneously in several rooms without loss of quality and using various equipment. In addition, the multimedia server allows you to record only selected fragments or compositions from a DVD or CD, allows you to save your own materials, for example, home videos.
Data storage security is achieved by using a fault-tolerant RAID 5 system with hot swapping, which allows the user to be sure that the library is securely stored. The media server library offers a modern software environment for playing the library contents on a personal computer, has a parental control system with password protection.
