Malta, SAMSUNG VISION DAY 2011.

This time my way to the next annual SAMSUNG VISION DAY conference lay on the island of Malta. The conference took place from March 2 to 4 at the Westin Dragonara Hotel and was attended by more than 200 security professionals: representatives of the European regional offices of Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd, distributors, installers, journalists and marketers.
SAMSUNG VISION DAY 2011 was held under the motto “Imagination, Innovation, Integration” and provided delegates with a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the security solutions that Samsung plans to implement this year, as well as to understand the essence of the company’s efforts to achieve the position of a leading brand in the technical security systems market. The demonstration of new products and solutions aroused great interest.

The company’s strategy and plans for 2011
Lucas Lee, Managing Director of Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd, spoke in detail about the company's plans for the current year in his report:
— During 2011, Samsung will expand the range of iPOLiS network and IP products, including a new line of high-resolution cameras and extended-range network video recorders;
— Fully integrated security solutions that meet the diverse requirements of various market sectors will be provided by an innovative security system management (TSM) platform that offers a scalable solution for both local facilities and for building a management system covering an entire city.
— Samsung Techwin Europe (STE) will aggressively increase its market share throughout Europe;
— the company will expand direct marketing programs aimed at both end users and system integrators and installers;
— services will be expanded to provide sales, technical support and business development functions;
— Samsung Techwin Europe (STE) hopes to open new support offices;
— the company's product line will be expanded again this year. Among the company's new solutions are products such as TSM-2000 (a comprehensive security management solution), new robots (including a mobile version of STAR), network and IP products, products from related areas such as access control and management systems.

New Technologies and Solutions 2011
Peter Ainsworth, Senior Product Manager at Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd, presented the latest Samsung solutions, talking about the unique technologies that the company uses in its products and that bring expanded benefits to users. The speaker paid special attention to IP solutions and new solutions in related business segments. The speaker emphasized that the company plans to achieve a new level of quality, convenience and ease of use and integration of its devices and solutions.
For example, Samsung's IP network products currently support integration with more than 20 third-party management platforms, and the company aims to double that number in 2011.

Marketing Strategy 2011
James Smith, Marketing Manager, Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd., presented a brief overview of Samsung's marketing plans for the current year and some initiatives that will provide customers with easy access to the necessary information and a full understanding of all the benefits that come with choosing Samsung solutions.
The company's priorities include further stimulation of sales services, technical support, and the organization of offices in cities in Europe, Russia and the CIS for the effective management of large projects.
The key points of the IMS Research report «Security Industry Trends», which was presented by the research company's scientific director Alastair Haylfield, were:
— a brief overview of the EMEA video surveillance market;
— general overview of the industry and its main development trends;
— place in the market of Russia and other CIS countries;
— brief overview of the EMEA ACS market;
— integrated security systems in the EMEA market.
The conference included an award ceremony for the best Samsung distributors and installation companies for the most interesting installations. The awards were presented by — head of the technical security systems division, vice president of Samsung Techwin Korea, Mr. Yoon-Ho Ha.

On the evening of March 3, a gala reception and dinner awaited the guests.
And the next morning, the conference delegates went on a sightseeing tour of the historical capital of Malta, Valletta. The city with its baroque architecture, the Upper Barrakka gardens with stunning views of the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities, St John’s Co-Cathedral – these are unforgettable masterpieces that will be remembered for a long time.
