Kyiv schools will be equipped with comprehensive security systems.
Soon, parents will be able to monitor their children’s educational process online from a distance – check their child’s progress, attendance, and view the class schedule.
Having access to the information and analytical system of educational institutions, parents will even be able to see their children using CCTV cameras installed in the school corridors. Such opportunities are provided by the introduction of an information and analytical system for monitoring education and a comprehensive security system for educational institutions.
This was announced by the Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Vitaly Zhuravsky during a working visit to the scientific and natural lyceum No. 145.
This is one of the general educational institutions of the Ukrainian capital, in which, on the initiative of the mayor and for the funds of the city budget, an information and analytical system for monitoring education and its subsystem – a comprehensive security system for educational institutions.
“Since September 1, a comprehensive security system has been operating in 6 schools in Kyiv, 1.4 million UAH were spent on this. At the initiative of the Kyiv mayor Leonid Chernovetsky, such a system is planned to be introduced in every school.
The issue price is UAH 111 million. Then we will be able to answer the main questions — how schools work, what needs to be done to make them work better.
Our main goal is for parents to be absolutely calm about their children when they are in school.
We create such conditions in every school so that children there can receive a quality education,” said Vitaly Zhuravsky.
In 2007-2008, three hundred and five educational institutions of the Goloseevsky, Darnitsky, Desnyansky, Pechersky, Solomensky and Shevchenkovsky districts of Kyiv became participants in a large-scale project.
They are gradually moving from paper to electronic document management of educational institutions.
This became possible precisely thanks to the information and analytical system for monitoring education in the city of Kyiv, introduced on the initiative of the Kyiv mayor Leonid Chernovetsky.
Information and analytical system for monitoring education is software that accompanies a student at all stages of study, from submitting an application for enrollment in an educational institution to receiving a certificate of secondary education.
Every employee of an educational institution can work in the system.
The methodologist will create a student profile, which will include his personal data, benefits, achievements, and form of study.
The head teacher, using the curriculum, can easily create a schedule and adjust the workload.
Teachers in the computer lab will test students’ knowledge in disciplines.
The class teacher will supplement the student’s questionnaire with results about attendance, academic performance, and more. This information is constantly updated.
Thanks to the information and analytical system, the director can easily receive all the data about the educational process.
In 2008, the information and analytical system expanded its functionality. From now on, it is possible to automatically track visits to an educational institution by students, employees, and visitors.
Entrance to the school premises is carried out using electronic student tickets, employee passes and visitor guest passes, and the video surveillance system ensures effective supervision of the internal premises and the surrounding territory of the educational institution.
In fact, everything related to the learning process can be tracked and updated in the information and analytical system while at the workplace in the office.
This will help you save time and directly observe everything that happens in a particular class or school. Confidentiality of information is ensured by an access card and a password, which makes it impossible for people who do not have the right to interfere with the system.
Scientific and Natural Lyceum No. 145 was not chosen by chance to establish a subsystem of the information and analytical system for monitoring education in Kiev — the Integrated Security System.
The educational institution is located in the city center near large infrastructure facilities and the central stadium.
The introduction of the subsystem in this and other educational institutions of the capital of Ukraine will allow us to check the effectiveness of the system and make the necessary improvements to prevent any violations of law and order and avoid all possible threats to the safety of students and teaching staff of educational institutions.
In 2008, 6 Kiev schools were equipped with the following subsystems: scientific and natural lyceum No. 145, specialized school No. 75 of the Pechersky district, specialized school No. 112 of the Goloseevsky district, boarding school No. 14 of the Dnieper district, specialized school No. 115 of the Solomensky district, as well as a specialized school No. 73 Shevchenko district.
The use of the information and analytical system for monitoring education in Kyiv by the main department, six regional departments of education and science and three hundred and five general educational institutions makes it possible to automate the functioning of these institutions and simplify the management of educational institutions at all levels.
Such a widespread implementation of the system made it possible to strengthen and improve control over educational, administrative, economic activities both within the institution itself and on the part of the district and main departments of education and science of the city.
