Kyiv schools will be equipped with comprehensive security systems.
Soon, parents will be able to remotely monitor their children's educational process online — check their child's academic performance, attendance, and view the class schedule.
With access to the information and analytical system of educational institutions, parents will even be able to see their children using surveillance cameras installed in the school corridors.
Such opportunities are provided by the implementation of the Information and Analytical System for Monitoring Education and the Comprehensive Security System for Educational Institutions.
This was announced by the Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Vitaliy Zhuravsky during a working visit to the Scientific and Natural Sciences Lyceum No. 145.
This is one of the general education institutions of the Ukrainian capital, in which, at the initiative of the mayor and using funds from the city budget, the Information and Analytical System for Monitoring Education and its subsystem – the Comprehensive Security System for Educational Institutions – have been implemented.
«Since September 1, a comprehensive security system has been operating in 6 schools in Kyiv, with UAH 1.4 million spent on it.
At the initiative of Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky, such a system is planned to be implemented in every school.
The price of the issue is UAH 111 million.
Then we will be able to answer the main questions — how schools work, what needs to be done to make them work better.
Our main goal is for parents to be absolutely calm about their children when they are in schools.
We create such conditions in each school so that children there can receive a quality education,” said Vitaliy Zhuravsky.
In 2007-2008, three hundred and five educational institutions of the Goloseevsky, Darnitsky, Desnyansky, Pechersky, Solomensky and Shevchenkovsky districts of Kyiv became participants in a large-scale project.
They are gradually switching from paper to electronic document management of the educational institution.
This became possible thanks to the information and analytical system for monitoring education in Kyiv, implemented on the initiative of Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky.
The information and analytical system for monitoring education is software that accompanies a student at all stages of their studies, from submitting an application for admission to an educational institution to receiving a certificate of secondary education.
Every employee of an educational institution can work in the system.
The methodologist will create a student questionnaire, which will include his personal data, benefits, achievements, and form of study. The head teacher, using the curriculum, will easily create a schedule and adjust the workload. Teachers in the computer lab will test students' knowledge of subjects.
The class teacher will supplement the student questionnaire with results on attendance, academic performance, and more. This information is constantly updated. Thanks to the information and analytical system, the director will easily be able to receive all data on the educational process.
In 2008, the information and analytical system expanded its functionality. From now on, it became possible to automatically track the attendance of students, employees, and visitors to the educational institution.
Entrance to the school premises is carried out using electronic student cards, employee passes, and guest passes for visitors, and the video surveillance system ensures effective supervision of the interior and adjacent territory of the educational institution.
In fact, everything related to the learning process can be tracked and updated in the information and analytical system while in the office.
This will help save time and directly monitor everything that happens in a particular class or school. Confidentiality of information is ensured by an access card and a password to it, which makes it impossible for people who do not have the right to interfere with the system.
It was not by chance that the Scientific and Natural Sciences Lyceum No. 145 was chosen to establish a subsystem of the information and analytical system for monitoring education in Kyiv – the Integrated Security System.
The educational institution is located in the city center next to large infrastructure facilities and the central stadium.
The implementation of the subsystem in this and other educational institutions of the capital of Ukraine will allow to check the efficiency of the system and make the necessary improvements in order to prevent any violations of law and order and avoid all possible threats to the safety of students and teaching staff of educational institutions.
In 2008, 6 Kyiv schools were equipped with such subsystems: scientific and natural sciences lyceum №145, specialized school №75 of Pechersk district, specialized school №112 of Goloseevsky district, boarding school №14 of Dniprovsky district, specialized school №115 of Solomensky district, as well as specialized school №73 of Shevchenkovsky district.
The use of the information and analytical system of monitoring the education of Kyiv by the main department, six district departments of education and science and three hundred and five general educational institutions makes it possible to automate the processes of functioning of these institutions and simplify the management of educational institutions at all levels.
Such a wide implementation The system made it possible to strengthen and improve control over educational, administrative, and business activities both within the institution itself and on the part of the district and main departments of education and science of the city.
