Kieback&Peter in the Catherine Palace.
Tsarskoye Selo, the Catherine Palace – the former summer residence of the tsars – is located in the town of Pushkin, south of St. Petersburg.
The world-famous landmark of the palace is the Amber Room, ceremoniously opened by Vladimir Putin and Gerhard Schroeder after its restoration, timed to coincide with the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg.
Another famous landmark is the Great (Throne) Hall, formerly one of the largest and most magnificent ballrooms in Europe.
This spacious hall (area of about 1,000 sq.m.), which is a wonderful example of Russian Baroque interior, often hosts international congresses, conferences, symposiums and seminars today, especially in the summer.
In the summer, the hall is visited by about 2,000 people daily.
Not long ago, the palace underwent a major renovation and restoration.
At the same time, the heating and air conditioning units installed in the palace back in the 70s of the last century were replaced.
One of the most important requirements was to create optimal conditions in the premises for both visitors and valuable exhibits made of precious metals and wood, as well as mirrors.
It was taken into account that the outside temperature in summer can sometimes exceed plus 30 °C, and in winter it can drop below minus 30 °C.
The DDC3000 building management system from Kieback&Peter monitors the climate in the premises and controls the new installations.
Kieback&Peter (pronounced as “Keeback and Peter“) is a German company that produces equipment for controlling heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and for building dispatching.
The system operates with great efficiency.
The ability to use annual and weekly equipment operating programs ensures that the heating and air conditioning units can be adjusted with taking into account the schedule of operation of the facility.
All this allows saving energy and provides optimal conditions for any type of use of the premises.
