#video surveillance of objects
How to competently carry out video surveillance of objects.
Regardless of the level of complexity and importance of the territory or premises that need to be protected, video surveillance of objects is best carried out around the clock.
In cases where the object requires special attention and enhanced security, separate video cameras will not do.
Here, a unified video surveillance system is needed, consisting of one or more video cameras and a monitor on which the image from video cameras.
Video surveillance of objects of different levels, of course, requires different approaches. If the object is of an industrial nature, then it requires protection and control of a large area.
Systems that automatically initiate recording after a signal from a motion sensor or are controlled by an operator are effective here.
In addition, video intercoms that provide access control at a large distance from the entrance to the object are suitable.
Today, robotic video cameras, controlled by an operator and replacing several cameras due to their ability to “capture” viewing areas that are inaccessible to more simplified camera models, are also gaining popularity.
Separately, it is necessary to note the features of video surveillance of objects on the perimeter territory, when the situation outside the object is monitored.
The main tasks of external video surveillance are to prevent an intruder from entering the territory of the facility; the ability to track in real time the movement of vehicles entering the protected area.
Equipment for video monitoring of the perimeter must be equipped with infrared radiation sources so that the efficiency of shooting at night does not decrease.
If the installation of security video surveillance is carried out at retail facilities (store security), then there are specific goals and features: it is necessary to prevent theft of goods and personal belongings by visitors and employees of the facility.
Three points at which the installation of security video surveillance for a retail facility is most effective: at the entrance to the retail facility; inside the sales area; near cash terminals.
Cameras installed in the aisles and between the shelves with retail products are of particular importance. Usually, preference is given to cameras with varifocal lenses and manual diaphragm adjustment.
When organizing video surveillance in parking lots, cameras with a narrow viewing angle are used, which are placed along the perimeter at a distance of no more than 30 m from each other.
One camera must be installed in the direction of viewing the entrance gate.
For a general overview of the territory, cameras with a wide viewing angle are installed. It is recommended to install one camera with a zoom lens, which can be controlled remotely — rotate the body, zoom in on the picture.
At night, it is necessary to ensure high-quality lighting of the area or provide cameras with infrared illumination.
Object under video surveillance.
Thinking about security, one must not forget that the rights of citizens should not be violated. The legality of hidden video surveillance still raises many questions.
Each facility equipped with surveillance systems — offices, catering establishments, stores, industrial and construction facilities — must have special warning signs informing that the facility is under video surveillance.
Employees and visitors to protected facilities must be informed about the provision of security and video surveillance services. An accessible and simple way to inform people is to place posters, boards and stickers with the appropriate content.
Information that the object is under video surveillance is placed in a visible place in front of the entrance to the protected area.
This area is regulated by Federal Law No. 272-FZ of December 22, 2008.
However, direct liability for the absence of mandatory warning signs is not provided for by law.
In case of violation of this law, the offender (management of the enterprise or security) may be subject to administrative liability.
