How to choose the right installation team for installing a security system?
You are unlikely to install the equipment yourself. The installation will be performed by a hired worker. And there are subtleties in his choice.
Have you ever bought equipment that you didn't know how to install? For example, a gas or electricity meter, an electric pump or a central heating radiator. Most likely, yes. And what did you do? Did you trust the installation to just anyone or did you try to find a specialist? Surely you can guess what can happen if a plumber starts fixing the wiring or the TV? It can't be any better if a surgeon starts laying parquet or plastering the walls. Therefore, it is very important to choose an installer who has experience in installing, starting up and adjusting security systems.
What is the choice?
Today, there are 3 main types of companies on the market that install security systems:
- Organizations with installers and engineers on staff.
- Intermediaries.
- Foremen who install with their own teams.
How do they work?
Here's how these companies work: – A serious installation organization has full-time employees who design, install, and launch systems. Usually, these people are not 100% busy. To increase profits and the organization's efficiency, companies take on objects in addition to the main ones. This helps prevent downtime for people and equipment. As a rule, such “non-core” objects come from intermediary firms.
– Intermediary firms are organizations that do not have their own engineers and installers. Sometimes these are start-up trading organizations. They hire foremen with teams or large installation organizations on a contract basis.
– Private foremen are usually professionals who previously worked for a construction company but decided to go into business on their own.
When installing a security system, a warranty is very important. If something breaks down due to improper installation, non-warranty repairs can cost a lot of money. In addition, when the system is faulty, the risk of emergency situations increases. This problem can be avoided if you choose the right contractor.
Who to choose?
A serious installation company is responsible for its work. These guys will do everything quickly, beautifully, efficiently. And they will provide a warranty.
The team of fitters will most likely do everything well. But they do not provide official guarantees, because they do not conclude a contract with the customer.
When working with intermediaries, you cannot be 100% sure of anything. Their main task is to spin the client's money with maximum benefit for themselves. They will choose the cheapest contractors, without worrying about quality.
Conclusion: the best option is to work directly with the installation company. If you need to install 3-4 cameras, you can trust the installation team – their services are cheaper. Well, I do not recommend working with intermediaries at all.
How to recognize the right one?
How many installers do you have on staff? – this is the question you need to ask the installer. If there are less than 10 or no installers on staff, then you are either a foreman or an intermediary. If there are more than 20 installers – an installation organization.
Summary.
We communicate with a large number of installation teams and organizations. When people contact our company and ask to install a security system, we have a large choice of whom to recommend as an installer. Among our clients, there are also intermediaries. Believe me, we have tested the advice we give you from our own experience, because we believe that security should be comfortable.
