Here's a new twist: the high-precision dome camera TK-C686E and its outdoor modification.
Sometimes improving the mechanical part of a dome camera gives results as bright as increasing the functionality of the firmware or using expensive optics and megapixel matrices. When creating the new TK-C686E camera, the development team of JVC company focused on mechanics — and received a fast, accurate, silent and durable device. The secret is that the design of the TK-C686E rotary mechanism provides for direct transmission of movement from the engine to the camera unit without the use of a traditional belt drive.
The engine does not roar
The TK-C686E is equipped with a precision positioning mechanism with a direct drive motor, which is superior to the traditional toothed belt mechanism in terms of reliability, durability and accuracy of rotation angle adjustment. This motor has a low noise level, so the dome video camera can be used in hospitals, museums and other institutions where increased requirements are placed on silence in the premises. The motor performs 360° circular panning and tilting in the range from -5° to 185° at a speed of up to 400°/s and an accuracy of 0.01°. It should be noted that such accuracy is maintained over a long period of time, while cameras with a belt drive are often characterized by “accumulation” of positioning error, which is especially noticeable at high zoom factors.
With this rotating mechanism, the TK-C686E performs circular panning at a speed of 0.04 to 400°/s and tilting at a speed of 0.04 to 300°/s. High positioning speed allows you to almost instantly change the direction of the camera's view and track fast-moving objects when monitoring with a large viewing angle. The minimum rotation speed of the video camera is used for monitoring with a high zoom factor and a small viewing angle.
In other capabilities, the TK-C686E is in no way inferior to its products from the JVC dome camera line.
The TK-C686E is equipped with a 1/4-inch CCD matrix, which provides the camera with a resolution of 540 TVL both during the day and at night. The sensitivity of the video camera in color mode is 0.5 lux, and in black and white — 0.04 lux. The transition from the «day» mode to the «night» mode and back is carried out automatically by mechanically disabling the IR filter.
For long-distance video surveillance, the dome video camera is equipped with a 36x zoom lens (focal length from 3.43 to 122 mm). The camera's aperture is controlled manually or automatically depending on lighting conditions, and the relative aperture varies from F1.6 to F4.5. Due to the ability to visually zoom in on objects, one TK-C686E can perform detailed video monitoring over a large area. For outdoor use, JVC produces dome video cameras model TK-C686WPE, which differ from TK-C686E in that they have a thermal housing.
TK-C686E has a built-in motion detector with adjustable sensitivity and allows you to program up to 100 presets, as well as adjust the white balance ATW/AWC, electronic shutter speed 1/50-1/10000 s, AGC, lens parameters, etc. During installation of TK-C686E on site, the video camera allows you to select several zones in the frame, video information from which will be hidden from the operator in order to maintain confidentiality. When changing the direction of view or the zoom factor of the video camera, the position and size of the masks are linked to other objects in the frame.
In the dark, but no offense
In addition to high sensitivity of up to 0.04 lux in black and white mode, the TK-C686E has a number of special functions that ensure image quality in low-light conditions in the surveillance zone. Thus, the automatic gain control (AGC) function amplifies the weak signal typical for video recording in low light conditions, and the dome video camera provides correct color rendition in the «day» mode due to the proprietary JVC Super LoLux technology. If these measures are not enough, then you can switch the TK-C686E to frame accumulation mode, when the sensitivity of the video camera increases due to the increased exposure time. These features allow you to use the TK-C686E for surveillance in poorly lit rooms, such as restaurants, hotels, casinos, as well as anywhere where artificial or mixed lighting is used.
In the heat and scorching cold
For outdoor use, JVC offers the TK-C686WPE modification in a thermal housing that has IP66 dust and moisture protection class and allows the camera to operate stably at temperatures from -40° to +50°C. Both dome camera versions use an advanced electronic image stabilization algorithm that prevents image blurring due to various vibrations that occur, for example, in strong gusty winds or heavy traffic.
Without a single bolt
In the standard configuration, the camera can be installed on the ceiling, and with the additional purchase of various brackets, it can be mounted on walls or with a special holder — in false ceilings. For the outdoor camera, a convenient wall bracket is included in the delivery set, a ceiling bracket is optional. The One-touch Lock mounting mechanism ensures quick installation and convenient maintenance of video cameras, thanks to which all elements of the structure are connected to each other and attached to the bracket without the use of bolts and screws.
