#MIPS – 2008
Geutebrueck Gmbh about MIPS-2008.
Question: Why did your company decide to participate in MIPS?
It would seem that the February exhibition in Crocus was just recently completed — the obligatory «curtsey of presence» on the market was performed, there is a ton of work on projects for the next two years… and now an unscheduled decision to participate in the April MIPS 2008?! The fact that Geutebrueck is present with its own stand at MIPS 2008 is explained simply — this is an exponential growth of interest from the Russian departmental consumer in Geutebrueck products, even compared to the favorable situation for us in 2007. I would like to immediately clarify the definition of «product». This is not at all a separate thing, for example, a video recording device or a video camera, a product in the understanding of the manufacturer STN Geutebrueck — this is an individually balanced ratio of price and quality of a CCTV system and increasingly also IPTV with an emphasis on quality. And I will not dissemble, claiming that we are ready to satisfy the wishes of any customer. Obviously, following our own definition of the product, it is profitable for us to improve the quality, satisfying the needs of a competent, determined in their choice and, most importantly, solvent customer. Today, in the Russian Federation, the majority of such customers are in the departmental sector — this fact defines our current target consumer group. Moreover, servicing the public sector, of course, is not an end in itself. More and more Russian private business companies, it seems, are starting to move away from experiments with «home-grown» security systems, including CCTV. Looking around the market, some turn to us, albeit more often so far only for advice, .. but as they say — a bad start is a bad start. At the end of April, immediately after MIPS 2008, the Forum of Security Solutions of Western European manufacturers for Russian companies — «blue chips» will be held in London. As a participant in the Forum, it will be interesting for us to understand our own level of readiness to work with this market segment.
Question: Your company deals with integrated solutions in the field of security television. In particular, you talk about your readiness to combine equipment of different generations into a single complex. But what about the incompatibility of devices of different generations, which is talked about so much?
Maintaining downgrade compatibility of devices of different generations is one of the mandatory topics in the work of Geutebrueck R&D, product management. Installed CCTV systems are in our field of vision almost until the moment of write-off by the customer. Modification, retrofitting of systems during operation during these 7 — 10 years is a routine task for Geutebrueck. There are television systems in which DVRs Muliscope (year of manufacture 1996), Muliscope II (year of manufacture 1998), Muliscope II plus (year of manufacture 2006), Muliscope III (year of manufacture 2006), Geviscope 16HR (year of manufacture 2007) interact. Of course — The advisability of combining devices with a 12-year age difference for performance reasons is debatable, but the possibility of combining clearly demonstrates that ensuring compatibility of technologies is possible and necessary, first and foremost, to protect the customer's investment.
Question: Is it possible to single out the innovations that have appeared over the past year that have become a «new word» in security?
Yes — in our opinion, such an innovation in security television is the practice of using DSP to process video and audio compression processes, video analysis outside the CPU. Thus, VDSP, being the hardware core of GeViScope, in combination with MPEG4cctv, as a derivative of the Geutebrueck compression format, opens up new horizons for integrating security television into existing structured computer networks.
Question: Geutebrueck operates in many countries around the world. How quickly do new developments become available in Russia?
We are represented in 35 countries. I am pleased to note the fact that the introduction and application of new products in Russia often happens earlier than in Western Europe or even Germany. This is explained by the same rapid growth of the Russian SB market, openness to new things. Well, I also pay tribute to the high level of professionalism and efficiency of our Russian partners-integrators.
Question: Your company offers many industry solutions. Are there any industries that are still poorly covered by the latest developments?
Geutebrueck systems, remaining reliable due to quality control during hardware production in Germany, are also distinguished by their flexibility, traditionally inherent in any PC-based systems. Due to the flexibility of configuration and adaptability of the system to the customer's tasks, it is possible, without additional costs, to «customize» the system circulation for the tasks of a particular industry. And then it is a matter of marketing to call the solution industry-specific and accordingly present it to the market.
Question: Tell us a little about your plans for MIPS — 2008. What do you want to achieve by participating in the exhibition?
We jokingly called our stand «a large negotiation room» on Krasnaya Presnya. It is convenient to have the opportunity to meet in a compressed format with a large number of partners, customers, subcontractors, designers, etc., important for Geutebrueck's business. In addition, participation in the Moskomarkhitektura Conference is important for us. We hope that Moscow builders will be interested in getting acquainted with the new products from Geutebrueck.
Question: Your wishes to MIPS participants.
It is conditionally true that the organizers of the exhibition make the exhibition. But they only set the format. The exhibition is created by the stand managers themselves. I wish all exhibiting companies to proudly consider themselves participants of MIPS 2008, worthily presenting their products.
