Excellent efficiency and low power consumption are the main advantages of the new FR-F700 series of frequency converters, available in various versions and with output power from 0.75 to 630 kW. Their wide range of capabilities allows saving energy and costs when used in pump and fan drives for HVAC systems.
An important factor is that the greatest energy savings are achieved in the low-speed range, as well as during acceleration and braking. For example, at a frequency of 35 Hz, this inverter consumes 57% less energy than traditional solutions. The energy savings factor can be shown on the display of the inverter control panel, and also transmitted via analog circuits or network cables to an external system.
The FR-F700 features an excitation optimization function developed by Mitsubishi Electric. It reduces energy consumption by a further 10% thanks to the optimum value of the magnetic flux in the motor. These capabilities and advanced PID control functions (including drive stall control) that support the control of multiple electric motors make the FR-F700 an ideal device for pressure and flow control systems. At the same time, the overall range of application of these converters is very wide: from pumps, fans, conveyors to metalworking and weaving machines.
The FR-F700 frequency converters are extremely compact for their power class, which allows them to be installed in limited space. The series is complemented by a design with IP54 protection category, thanks to which the FR-F700 converters can be used in more severe operating conditions.
Independent operation. The inverter's intelligent capabilities allow it to be used without additional controllers.
Free-running prevention function When the system is started, for example after a power failure, the FR-F700 inverter detects the current speed and direction of rotation of the motor to ensure proper synchronization. If the motor is already rotating, this function prevents the motor from automatically shutting down due to overload. This “motor matching”, which works in both directions, saves energy and time, since there is no need to disconnect the load before turning on the inverter.
Multiple Motor Control The FR-F700 can automatically control up to four motors. When each motor reaches a preset speed, it switches to «direct connection» and the system switches to control the next one. When braking, this procedure is repeated in reverse order.
Standard Remote Control The removable FR-DU07 control panel with LED display provides simple and intuitive control of the inverter, and the digital dial provides quick and convenient access to all parameters. The panel allows you to check and adjust settings, monitor the current state of the system, all parameters of the inverter and motor, and also displays warning signals and error codes, which ensures quick diagnostics of faults. The control panel can be used to directly adjust the motor speed and copy sets of setting parameters from one inverter to another. It is possible to connect the FR-DU07 remotely from the converter via a cable. Among other things, the system automatically reminds you of the need to replace components at a certain time. Thus, the design of the new frequency converters helps to facilitate and speed up maintenance.
Communication capabilities Nowadays, support for multiple information networks is essential for all control systems. The new FR-F700 frequency converters have the ability to connect to all major types of networks, including Profibus/DP, DeviceNet, CC-LINK and LON Works. Other communication options (such as a built-in RS-485/Modbus RTU port and an additional USB port) allow the converters to work with the FR_Configurator software package and the new powerful MX4 SCADA visualization software package from Mitsubishi Electric.
Electromagnetic compatibility The standard EMC filter for suppressing interference allows EMC requirements to be met without any additional equipment or actions.
Compliance with global standards The new FR-F700 inverter is a truly international product. It meets all the necessary international standards: CE, UL, cUL, GOST and CCC. Taking into account the rising cost of electricity, Mitsubishi Electric made energy saving one of the main requirements when developing the FR-F700 series inverters. The result is another extremely economical and efficient addition to the very popular Mitsubishi Electric inverter range worldwide, making a significant contribution to reducing energy costs in industrial production without losing quality and reliability. It is thanks to exceptional reliability that Mitsubishi Electric electric drive technology has a high reputation throughout the world.
