Fire cabinet shpk. What you need to know
According to fire safety regulations, a building must have a fire cabinet and a fire evacuation plan.
Fire cabinet(шпк) refers to one of the types of fire-fighting equipment designed to accommodate technical equipment used to extinguish a fire: fire extinguishers, fire hoses, fire nozzles. A fire cabinet (шпк) is also designed to keep this equipment in good condition. There are several types of cabinet design depending on the type of cabinet placement. There are three types: wall-mounted, floor-mounted and built-in fire cabinet (шпк). There can also be an open design — with windows and a closed design — without windows. Cabinets for storing fire extinguishers are installed in industrial and civil buildings. It is important to remember that their installation must be carried out by specialists, taking into account the relevant requirements. A fire cabinet (шпк) is made of metal plates 1.0-1.2 mm thick, painted with red or white powder enamel, with an all-metal door or a door with glass (or without). The cabinet doors are equipped with locks and key slots protected by glass. As a rule, a fire cabinet (shpk) has standard dimensions: 1300 mm in height, 540 mm in width, 230 mm in depth. A fire bucket, an axe, a shovel can be placed in a fire cabinet. At industrial facilities and warehouses, a box with sand is installed next to the fire cabinet.
Hanging fire cabinet
Wall-mounted cabinets are installed or hung on the walls inside buildings or structures. A wall-mounted fire cabinet is characterized by a window protected by glass or an all-metal door. Cabinets of this type can have different capacities. A wall-mounted fire cabinet can be used to store fire-fighting equipment and inventory. The capacity of the cabinet can also be different: for one or more fire extinguishers. As a rule, a small wall-mounted fire cabinet designed for a set of one fire extinguisher and one fire hose with a household fire hydrant is installed in civilian buildings and residential premises. The design of the cabinet assumes the presence of two sections, one of which is equipped with a rotating cassette for a fire hose, on the side walls on both sides there are notches for inlets for a fire hydrant, the other is designed to store two fire extinguishers. Types of fire extinguishers for storage in cabinets are regulated separately for each specific case.
Fire cabinet according to GOST
According to GOST, a fire cabinet must meet the climatic performance requirements. The operating temperature range is from 5 to 45 degrees with a relative humidity of up to 90%, the transportation and storage temperature is from -40 to 45 degrees. According to GOST, a fire cabinet must be accompanied by design documentation drawn up in accordance with the requirements of the Unified System for Design Documentation (ESKD) and adjusted based on the results of testing the installation series with the assignment of a design documentation in accordance with the established procedure. Accordingly, the GOST fire cabinet must contain information explaining the procedure for its use and safety rules in Russian. Fire cabinets manufactured by domestic enterprises are allowed to undergo certification tests in the field of fire safety if they have passed all stages and phases of development stipulated by GOST R 15.201, GOST 2.103, and have a full set of documentation. In this case, it is mandatory to conduct an examination of the design documentation when organizing and conducting certification tests for fire safety.
Fire cabinets must be manufactured according to design documentation approved in the established manner. Fire extinguishers and fire hydrant components intended for placement in the cabinet must also comply with the requirements of regulatory documents.
