Wireless fire detector. Heat and smoke detector Satel ASD-100.

The combined fire alarm ASD-100 from Satel is designed to operate as part of the wireless fire alarm system ABAX and is mounted inside protected premises. It is equipped with smoke and heat detectors that generate an alarm signal when the environmental parameters (smoke and temperature) reach specified threshold values. The alarm message is sent by the detector via radio to the ABAX system controller, also giving sound and light signals. The ASD-100 detector is configured remotely using radio communication, and the sensor is powered by a CR123A lithium battery, which provides a voltage of 3 V.

With the ABAX system, any wired fire alarm system can be expanded with wireless devices. The basis of the ABAX alarm system is the ACU-100 controller, which services wireless equipment, including ASD-100 fire detectors. These devices combine not only smoke but also heat fire detectors, which significantly expands the range of their application. Thus, thanks to the presence of a heat sensor, the installation of the ASD-100 becomes relevant in the following cases:
The volume controlled by the fire detector contains materials whose composition is such that more heat is released during combustion than smoke;
Smoke spread is impeded by external conditions (e.g. low temperature) or tightness (space behind a suspended ceiling);
There is a high concentration of aerosol particles in the air (flour in a flour mill).

Remote adjustment of the thermal sensor
The heat sensor built into the ASD-100 fire detector reacts to exceeding the threshold value and the rate of increase in ambient temperature. After registering a high temperature, the device sends an alarm message to the fire alarm controller, and this information will be transmitted until the cause of the sensor's activation is eliminated. Using the ABAX system radio channel, you can turn on/off the heat sensor in the ASD-100 and set the conditions for its activation (the rate of temperature increase and its threshold value).

Built-in photoelectric smoke detector
The ASD-100 is equipped with a smoke detector that uses the effect of infrared radiation scattering on smoke particles. Its measuring chamber contains an IR LED and a photodetector, which are oriented relative to each other so that under normal conditions the LED radiation does not fall on the photodetector. When smoke particles fall into the optical chamber of the detector, they chaotically scatter the diode radiation, and part of this radiation falls on the photodetector, exciting an electrical signal. The higher the concentration of smoke in the air, the higher the level of the electrical signal, and when it exceeds a certain threshold, the sensor generates an alarm message.

Possibility of alarm signaling via LED and buzzer
To signal an alarm, the fire detector has a built-in red LED that lights up for a specified time after detecting a threshold concentration of smoke or high temperature. In addition, the detector can give an alarm signal using a buzzer. In this case, during remote programming of the detector, the user can select one of three tones of the sound signal. The ASD-100 receives power from a CR123A lithium battery, which provides a voltage of 3 V and ensures the operation of the device for 3 years.

ASD-100 Installation Features
The combined fire alarm is designed for indoor installation, but for efficient operation it is recommended to mount it on the ceiling at a distance of at least 0.5 m from the walls. Before installing the alarm in a permanent location, it is necessary to check the level of the radio signal coming to the ACU-100 controller from the device and select the optimal position for the sensor in terms of radio communication. In addition, it is not recommended to install the device in places with a high concentration of dust and water vapor, as well as near heaters, stoves, etc.

Simple maintenance of the fire alarm
The ASD-100 has a reliable design and does not require scheduled inspection more than twice a year. The inspection is carried out in order to avoid false alarms of the alarm due to contamination of the optical chamber with dust. To do this, the test mode is started remotely and the sensor LED is monitored during the polling. If the optical chamber is dirty, the LED will give a signal consisting of two short sequential flashes. In this case, the fire detector must be opened and the labyrinth and the base of the optical chamber must be cleaned with a soft brush or compressed air.
