ERA GLONASS
The main projects that are being implemented in the regions are related to the deployment of the «Era GLONASS» program.
This is the main project of the company «Navigation and Information Systems». The «ERA GLONASS» system was designed as a Russian response to the European emergency alert system «E-Call», which has been successfully used throughout Europe for several years. The name itself is an abbreviation — ERA GLONASS, — which stands for «emergency response in case of an accident.» The project involves assistance on the roads, to motorists, including in case of accidents and emergencies. The installation of the GLONASS system is planned for all cars in Russia. A similar project is currently being implemented in Europe, Brazil and some other countries. «ERA GLONASS» — emergency response system in case of accidents, it is based on the GLONASS navigation system. The project is designed to prevent road accidents and speed up the notification of emergency services in case of accidents and other emergencies. The system will include navigation and telecommunications terminals, which will be installed en masse on vehicles starting in 2013, and the corresponding infrastructure covering all subjects of the Russian Federation.
GLONASS navigation system for accident prevention (system project) includes 10 working models of all the main components of the system. Requirements for automobile navigation terminals have already been developed, amendments to regulatory legal acts have been prepared, according to which all new cars receiving vehicle type approval after January 1, 2013 must be equipped with ERA GLONASS terminals» mandatory.
Auto GLONASS
Since 2011, it is planned to begin production of prototype terminals based on various Russian manufacturers to equip auto GLONASS. By the end of the year, federal and regional navigation and information centers in Moscow and St. Petersburg will begin operating in trial operation mode.
The auto—GLONASS systemassumes that in the event of an accident, a signal will be sent via satellite communication to the control room of the nearest ambulance station and the regional office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The system is designed to reduce the time required for all rescue services to respond by a third. Thanks to this, the severity of the consequences for the victims and the costs of eliminating the results of the accident from the budget will be significantly reduced.
GLONASS Sensors
The GLONASS navigation system assumes that cars are equipped with navigation sensors. GLONASS sensors will automatically send a signal in the event of an accident. It is planned that the insurance system of each car will include the costs required by GLONASS sensors. It is known that AvtoVAZ is already producing passenger cars equipped with a GLONASS navigation system worth 10 thousand rubles. It is expected that the price of the navigator will decrease when serial production begins in Russia.
