DAIWON OPTICAL Co., Ltd.
Founded in 1988, the South Korean company DAIWON OPTICAL COMPANY (that was its original name) entered the market as a manufacturer of lenses for binoculars, as well as photo and video cameras. Just four years later, the company firmly occupied its niche in the market of technical security equipment, having started production of CCD/CCTV lenses. With these products, DAIWON OPTICAL COMPANY successfully entered foreign markets.
The company, transformed into DAIWON OPTICAL Co., LTD, celebrated its tenth anniversary by receiving a patent in the field of Pinhole lenses. In the same 1998, production of lenses for CMOS TB cameras began. Production and export of lenses for web and digital cameras were also established.
A year later, DAIWON OPTICAL Co., LTD received the Commendation of the Ministry of Industry of South Korea for its achievements in export. In the same year, DAIWON OPTICAL Co., LTD was awarded the «Award for Achieving 1 Million US Dollars in Exports» by the South Korean Government.
1999 marked another very important achievement: the company began producing and exporting varifocal lenses, as well as lenses with spherical and hybrid optics.
In 2000, DAIWON OPTICAL Co., LTD received a certificate in the field of entrepreneurship from the South Korean government and gratitude from the president of the country for its achievements in the field of export. The volume of export deliveries of the company reached million, which was noted by a special award from the government. In the same year, its own research institute DAIWON OPTICAL Co., LTD began operating. Another evidence of the state recognition of the company's role is the beginning of supplies of equipment for the armed forces.
In 2001, the Industrial Bank of South Korea recognized DAIWON OPTICAL Co., LTD as a promising company in the field of small and medium-sized businesses. The company received an ISO certificate from QCB. At the same time, the production and export of lenses for high-resolution digital cameras began.
The following year, 2002, DAIWON OPTICAL Co., LTD products appeared on the Russian market. The Russian company «BIK-Inform» became the exclusive representative of DAIWON OPTICAL Co., LTD.
In the following years, the company's specialists worked hard to expand the range of varifocal lenses. An effective enterprise resource planning system was also developed and put into operation. DAIWON OPTICAL Co., LTD grew in quantity and quality, releasing new promising developments to the market, expanding production and research activities.
In 2005, the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund recognized DAIWON OPTICAL Co., LTD as its best partner. A year later, the company received another government award — this time «For reaching the level of 10 million US dollars in exports».
The company is not going to stop there. The production of new products has been mastered — megapixel lenses for frameless TV cameras. The production of Panfocus lenses and megapixel lenses for frameless TV cameras with M12 x 0.5 and D14 mounts has been launched and is being expanded.
And tomorrow will certainly be marked by new achievements of one of the world's leading manufacturers and exporters of lenses for CCTV.
