CPcam. The evolution of your desires.

How quickly time flies! It seems that only yesterday the first hard disk recording devices appeared on the market — unattractive in design, slow in recording speed, with now outdated compression formats, producing a low-quality picture. And the cost of these first-born digital recording devices was quite high — suppliers of foreign security systems asked for several thousand dollars for one device… We should also note that the first hard disk recording devices began to appear in Russia only under expensive trademarks of well-known manufacturers (for example, Sanyo or GE Kalatel).

The psychological limit for hard disk recording systems at the beginning of the 21st century could be considered one thousand dollars for one product. This line was «taken» with the appearance of equipment from Asian (primarily Taiwanese and Korean) manufacturers on the security systems market. One of these manufacturers, which presented its line of digital devices through its official distributors in Russia in 2002, was the AV Tech Group corporation.

AV Tech and CPcam: Innovation in Video and the Evolution of Your Desires

The slogan chosen by AV Tech Group for devices sold under the brand name «AV Tech» — «Innovation in Video» — was completely consistent with the company's philosophy of creating components for video surveillance systems. All devices «from AV Tech» were united by a single idea of high technology with the use of the latest technologies in electronics at a relatively low cost. The presence in the AV Tech Group of a number of companies engaged in the development of microprocessor technology, programming, board development, device design, etc., made it possible to cover almost the entire technological cycle of creating and producing new equipment in-house when designing and manufacturing equipment. This immediately affected the cost of equipment from AV Tech, in particular digital recorders — the cost of even the first devices «from AV Tech» that appeared on the Russian market were significantly lower than their analogues (with the corresponding, and often even higher, quality and functionality). At the beginning of 2003, another psychological threshold was passed — the cost of the AV Tech AVC721, a single-channel hard disk recording device, became lower than the cost of analog video recorders…

According to the results of 2003, AV Tech Group ranks 27th in the world in terms of security system sales, and already at the beginning of 2004 it introduces a new brand CPcam to the world security system markets. The main concept of this brand was to meet the growing needs of security system consumers for highly intelligent multifunctional devices that allow solving several tasks simultaneously (which previously would have required several devices) and the possibility of free use in IT networks and technologies. The slogan of the CPcam brand was chosen accordingly — «Evolution of your desires»…

CPcam — the next step of AV Tech

The first devices under the CPcam brand appeared on the Russian security systems market at the end of 2004. It was a series of professional video cameras with high technical characteristics, a line of LCD monitors and the first-born of digital recording from CPcam – a 4-channel device for recording on a hard disk, supporting the real-time triplex function and the ability to work in network mode.

All devices from CPcam became a logical continuation of similar series, sold to this day under the AV Tech trademark, but with significantly improved characteristics. So, in particular, for video cameras, the entire «stuffing» was fundamentally changed, the signal processing algorithm was changed, the latest CCD matrices from Sony began to be used. All this made it possible to obtain lines of video cameras that are not inferior to analogs produced by competing companies, and often surpass them.

CPcam CPD50W — the evolution of digital video recording

For recording video signals, AV Tech Group under the CPcam brand offered a fundamentally new series of devices for recording on a hard disk of the Stand-Alone series based on the Linux OS, operating in triplex mode and with the ability to work in different networks. The 4-channel device for recording on a hard disk CPcam CPD503W became the basis for the series. For the international security exhibition SecuTech 2007, held in Taiwan in March-April of each year, AV Tech Group prepared a new device — a 16-channel digital video recorder of real time CPcam CPD507HC. The main advantages of CPcam CPD507HC were:

  • Real time recording and display of information – CPD507НС has a maximum recording speed of 400 frames per second on 16 channels (which corresponds to a recording speed of 25 frames per second on each channel, i.e. recording in real time). The data is specified for a PAL video signal.
  • Use of the MPEG-4 video signal processing and compression format
  • Pentaplex function (simultaneous recording, viewing, registration, archiving (external disk arrays or built-in DVD-RW) and work on a computer network).
  • Network operation (built-in duplex video server), information exchange with both internal (e.g. Ethernet) and external (Internet) networks (the video signal processing and compression format for transmission via IT networks is MJPEG), control of additional devices (the hard disk recording devices themselves can also be controlled remotely from workstations with installed software or via Internet browsers). CPcam devices have a flexible settings algorithm and a large number of supported protocols, which allows them to be used in a wide variety of IT networks without the risk of hacking the network through the recording system. The CPcam CPD507НС hard disk recording device can also be controlled using the remote control included in the delivery set.
  • A new generation intelligent detector that uses 4 different settings, which ensures ideal compliance of the motion detector with the parameters of the protected object and the environmental parameters.
  • The device menu and software are in Russian.
  • The function of remote recording by RETR event, which allows to transfer information to a remote server upon occurrence of an alarm event, saving it in a safe place for access by security services. The remotely transferred file, in addition to video information, also contains service information about the time, date and place of origin of the alarm and can be viewed on a DVD player.
  • The system of archiving recorded video information to several types of media: USB media (both Flash cards and USB-compatible devices, such as laptop hard drives that support the USB format, can be used), a built-in DVD-RW (or CD-RW optionally, for recording discs and subsequent storage), as well as separate CPcam CPD671 devices, which are an independent disk array connected to the digital recorder using a SCSI port and supporting up to 3 hard drives of unlimited size. Up to 12 such disk arrays can be connected to one CPcam CPD507НС.
  • The function of updating the system software via the USB port.
  • The ability to view images from the recording device to the hard drive via a mobile phone using GPRS and JAVA technology (provided that the device is connected to the Internet).
  • The function of sending an alarm message (or picture) to the e-mail address or FTP server specified by the user of the system.
  • VGA output, allowing you to connect display devices with the appropriate connector.

But that's not all. Hard disk recording devices manufactured under the CPcam brand have adopted all the best features from the AV Tech model range, and, therefore, are highly reliable professional components for video surveillance systems with a wide range of characteristics.

By purchasing a CPcam hard disk recording device, the buyer receives a professional video recording system with high image quality from one of the leading companies in the field of video surveillance systems, a highly intelligent device with flexible algorithms for setting up any type of object and a basic device for a comprehensive security, automation and control system. Do you remember that all devices under the AV Tech and CPcam brands have a 3-year manufacturer's warranty?

P.S. Based on the results of 2006, AV Tech Corporation was recognized as the #1 in the world in terms of the number of hard disk recording devices produced and sold…
