24 terrorist attacks! These data cannot but horrify, cannot leave even the most cynical reader indifferent. The modern world is threatened by a threat called «Terrorism». The main task of any state is to ensure security. We are talking about creating a qualitatively new security structure. The task of such a structure is to minimize the risk of terrorist attacks. The fight against crime should be conducted more specifically and on a larger scale, and for this, at least modern technical equipment of law enforcement agencies is necessary.

Due to the high population density and strategic importance, the problem of terrorism is especially relevant for residents of megacities. As is known, the main target of terrorists are places of mass gatherings of people: metro, shopping centers, cultural and mass event venues. It is not surprising that increasing the level of security in general depends on the ability to control such objects.

It is impossible to stop suicide bombers directly with the help of video surveillance, but it is possible to coordinate the actions of law enforcement officers and obtain more accurate information about what is happening. After all, as we know, “Knowledge is power.”

During the terrorist attacks in the Moscow metro in 2010 (the largest terrorist attack in the history of the metro), with the help of CCTV cameras installed in the metro, it was possible to quickly and with maximum accuracy obtain photographs of women who, according to the investigation, could be accomplices of the suicide bombers; their photographs were distributed to the police officers. Subsequently, all persons involved in the explosions in the metro were identified; three members of the gang involved in organizing the explosions resisted arrest and were destroyed.

Any place with a high concentration of people is considered a high-risk area. Video surveillance is the most effective technical means of ensuring security in places with a high concentration of people. Firstly, it allows you to practically not interfere with the operation of the facility and control the situation over a large area, and secondly, high-quality recording, which is provided by modern video surveillance systems, allows you to effectively investigate crimes.

If the organizers of terrorist attacks know that in an hour every police officer will have a high-resolution photo of them, then most likely this will stop them, or at least create additional big problems. The probability of detention on the spot will increase many times over. Psychological factors also play a role — the more video cameras are installed, the more nervous the potential criminal, the suicide bomber, becomes.

For installation in crowded places, ACUMEN recommends installing cameras from the vandal-proof line: Ai-IR93 — a color vandal-proof camera with a long range of IR illumination, a resolution of 600 TVL and Ai-IR97N— a high-resolution vandal-proof color varifocal camera with a long range of IR illumination, IR illumination range up to 160 m, varifocal lens with an 18?55 mm ICR system. The cameras are equipped with a bracket that allows you to mount the camera on a wall, ceiling or inclined surface. It is recommended to place it in places that cannot be bypassed, such as entrances, exits, escalators, stairs. At a short distance, a face is confidently recognized by a camera even at 380 TVL, but still, you should not save on human safety. A color camera will allow you to get more information to detect a potential criminal hot on the trail, for example, the color of clothes, hair.

For monitoring the general situation, the ideal option is the Ai-SD79W — an external high-speed IP camera with a wide dynamic range. It has a set of useful additional functions — speed limit at high zoom, highly efficient 3D scanning, intelligent permanent memory that remembers settings and current status. Using the privacy masking function, you can mask unwanted or prohibited areas of the image for observation, 8 programmable zones. The camera has 5 automatic modes:
1. Automatic patrol of the object
2. Tracking settings by zone, by time, by alarm
3. Intensive detection settings
4. Enhanced tracking settings
5. Auto scanning
It is better to prepare before an incident occurs than to react after it has occurred.
