AXIS M3204 IP Cameras
The new M3204/M3204-V dome cameras from AXIS Communications feature a 2.8-10 mm varifocal lens and a compact, impact-resistant/vandal-proof housing.
They use 1/4″ A progressive scan CMOS sensor and an ARTREC-3 processor generate video streams in H.264 and M-JPEG formats with a resolution of up to 1 MPx or HDTV 720p at a frame rate of 30 fps.
Both cameras can be remotely managed using AXIS Camera Station or Milestone XProtect software, etc., and have a pixel counter, digital PTZ functions, video motion detection, a 25 MB video buffer, and an alert system for attempts to cover the lens, damage, or break into the housing.
The AXIS M3204 model in a shockproof housing, like the vandal-proof M3204-V IP camera, provides transmission of color video with HDTV quality and is most effective in security video systems of stores, administrative buildings, business centers, etc.
Due to the use of a 1/4″ CMOS sensor with progressive scan and advanced video signal processing algorithms, they transmit a clear image, including overexposed and/or darkened areas in the frame at illumination up to 0.9 lux, and provide shooting of moving objects without «blurring».
Video transmission with a frame rate of 30 fps at any resolution
Like many modern network cameras, these models use 2 codecs: advanced H.264 for remote video surveillance with minimal network load, and high-quality but resource-intensive M-JPEG for recording to the archive.
Unlike their counterparts, AXIS M3204 supports resolution options up to 1 MPx (1280×800 pixels) or HDTV 720p, and regardless of the codec or resolution, they transmit video streams at a rate of 30 fps.
Multi-stream video broadcasting in H.264 and M-JPEG formats
The M3204 series implements parallel transmission of video streams in both H.264 and M-JPEG, for example, to display images on PC monitors and recording devices. Thus, in H.264, along with the transmission of a stream with the maximum resolution and frame rate, it is possible to broadcast several more streams in the same format, but with speed/resolution restrictions.
Among other features of the cameras, it is worth highlighting the support of digital PTZ functions, presets and patrol tours.
Simplified installation of AXIS M3204 on site
During the installation of an IP camera, the installer can select the surveillance sector, precisely adjust the lens viewing angle using the balancing ring, and use the «pixel counter» function to set the image to a strictly defined size, which is necessary, for example, for identifying faces.
In addition, AXIS M3204 has a full set of video quality settings and allows you to configure up to 3 masks, and to «listen» to an object or the operator's communication with people there, you can use the optional AXIS P8221 audio modules.
Integration into software from many well-known developers
AXIS M3204 can be quickly configured from a remote PC and operate stably in LAN/WAN networks.
At the same time, they support the proprietary video hosting system (AVHS) with the One-Click IP camera connection function.
To administer the M3204 and manage their video streams, you can use a web browser or the Russian-language AXIS Camera Station software with support for up to 50 AXIS IP devices.
It is important that the cameras are integrated into software products from such well-known manufacturers as Milestone XProtect, ITV «Intellect», Smartec NetStation, etc.
Notification of alarm events and attempts to affect IP cameras
Both models in the series have video motion detection and a 25 MB video buffer for recording and local storage of pre- and post-alarm video fragments.
In addition, AXIS M32 uses an active notification system for attempts to damage, remove, paint over or cover the lens.
When an alarm is triggered, the IP cameras perform a number of programmed actions, such as uploading alarm files to an FTP server and/or sending messages by e-mail.
Option to choose between shockproof or vandal-proof AXIS M32 models
Depending on the specifics of the site, you can use shockproof AXIS M3204 cameras with protection against burglary/damage, or M3204-V in a vandal-proof housing that can withstand loads of up to 1,000 kg.
Both cameras support PoE technology, are equipped with a camera unit with protection against electromagnetic interference, a polycarbonate shade, are easy to mount on the ceiling/wall, and also allow for surface-mounted, flush-mounted and suspended installation using additional mounting kits and brackets.
