Biometric locks
Biometric locks– these are new generation access control systems. The process of opening and closing the lock is carried out by placing a finger on the optical sensor, then the sensor scans the fingerprint. Biometric locks are based on the principle of a certain number of key combinations, a large number of which provide a higher level of security. Biometric technology products are being implemented in Russia, first of all, at especially important facilities, and only then are they used as means of protection by ordinary citizens. Biometric locks, in this regard, is no exception, but today they are already beginning to be installed in some apartments. The uniqueness of this type of lock is based on the principle of the uniqueness of the papillary pattern of human fingers. The lock sensor visually perceives the pattern and, if it matches, opens the door. In terms of their protective and locking characteristics — burglar resistance and secrecy — biometric locksare practically no different from, for example, mechanical ones. In terms of security, there are also unconditional advantages that can be easily demonstrated using the following example: how many cases have there been when keys were lost and then robbed? — Criminals steal or take impressions of keys, thus opening themselves access to the property of the chosen victim. With a biometric lock, this can no longer be feared. Another advantage is the fact that the technology on which biometric locks are based, is quite difficult to disable, in addition, intruders often simply get confused when faced with such a miracle of locking technology, and do not know what to do with it. The fact is that this type of lock does not have any functional holes, by inserting a foreign object into which it could be disabled. The sensor area is capable of withstanding mechanical impact up to 3.5 ton-force per 1 sq. centimeter of surface area. In addition, biometric locksequipped with a sound reminder function about the door left open, an alarm function in case of an attempt to open it. However, when going to install this type of lock, you should take into account some points on which the protection of the entrance door and apartment depends: your fingerprint can be modified due to damage to the skin, so it makes sense to enter as many variants of your fingerprint as possible into the lock's memory. The cost of such a lock largely depends on the amount of its memory: at least, the lock can store 100 fingerprints, which is quite enough for installation on the door of a residential apartment. Since the device is powered by a battery, it is important not to make a mistake with its choice. As a rule, the service life of the lock from one set of batteries is about one to one and a half years. Thus, it is no worse than the famous electronic combination lock.

By using biometric security systems, you can also secure your car. There are similar systems designed for installation on vehicles.

Biocode

One of the varieties of anti-theft systems is biocode. Its principle is based on the same procedure of fingerprint identification. This device is designed for installation in the car interior. The scanner determines the fingerprint owner within two seconds. At the same time, in biocodealso includes wireless digital relays controlled by standard wiring and protected from search using diagnostic equipment, which will prevent theft. The latest models of such systems provide for the presence of a so-called «alarm finger» in the system's memory, which saves in the event of a hijacker's influence on the driver. When this finger is identified, the biocode simulates the normal operating mode, but then, after a while, when the hijacker manages to escape in the car for a certain distance, it blocks the engine. There is also a function for constant monitoring of the open driver's door. If the door is open for more than two seconds, then after the first press of the brake, the system will require re-identification, and if the owner is not recognized, it will lock the door. The memory of such a device, in comparison with biometric locks for entrance doors, is small — no more than 10, but this, as practice shows, is enough. You should not worry that the presence of a biocode system on your car can somehow negatively affect the functioning or technical properties of the vehicle.
