AXIS 215 PTZ. Keep an eye on everything around you without closing your eyes.

AXIS 215 PTZ.

Owners of important facilities increasingly formulate such a wish for a video surveillance system as the ability to work around the clock, 7 days a week.

A system built on day/night cameras can meet this requirement.

AXIS 215 PTZ can not only conduct video surveillance around the clock.

Due to the built-in pan/tilt device, it can change the direction of view at the operator's discretion.

It also transmits video over an IP network, making it available to the system operator or the owner of the facility from anywhere on Earth.

And that's not all of its advantages.

AXIS 215 PTZ not only generates an analog video signal, but also digitizes it, compresses it into MPEG-4 and M-JPEG, and transmits it over the network.

Once you have connected the IP camera to the network, assigned an IP address and configured the network settings, you can view the video from any PC connected to the network via Internet Explorer 6.x or via dedicated software such as AXIS Camera Station or AXIS Camera Management.

The exclusive ARTPEC-2 compression processor makes the AXIS 215 PTZ IP camera an effective tool for transmitting video over the network.

This chip enables hardware compression of the video signal in M-JPEG and in parallel in MPEG-4.

Up to 20 users can simultaneously view M-JPEG video, and an unlimited number of users can view MPEG-4 video. AXIS 215 PTZ provides multicast transmission of 768 x 576 video at up to 25 ips in MPEG-4 and M-JPEG formats, as well as two-way audio.

24/7 video surveillance

AXIS 215 PTZ has a switchable IR filter, so you can use it for 24/7 video surveillance.

In daylight mode, when the illumination at the site is at least 1 lux, the IR filter corrects the spectral characteristics of the CCD matrix.

When the illumination level decreases, the IR filter shifts relative to the CCD matrix, and the IP camera switches to black-and-white video surveillance mode. If the illumination level is below 0.3 lux, then with additional IR illumination, the IP camera can generate monochrome video in the IR range.

PTZ functions

AXIS 215 PTZ pans at up to 180o/s and tilts at up to 140o/s; the built-in 12x zoom is supplemented by a 4x digital zoom function.

The PTZ unit provides a panning range of +/- 170o.

However, the exclusive Auto-flip function of AXIS 215 PTZ allows you to expand the viewing area in the panning plane. And with the e-flip function, you can observe a person walking directly under the camera.

The image on the operator's monitor is always correctly oriented.

You can program up to 20 presets that can be accessed on command or scheduled.

The PTZ can be controlled using the buttons on the preview page or with a Windows-compatible joystick (such as the AXIS 295).

Control in a queue

Since AXIS 215 PTZ supports multi-user access, it is likely that several remote users will want to control the PTZ at the same time.

To avoid conflicts, AXIS 215 PTZ supports queue-based control.

When viewing video via a web browser or specialized video surveillance software, a queue is automatically created for controlling the IP camera.

The administrator can also grant the user exclusive access rights to control the IP camera for a certain period of time.

Alarm response

For connecting external devices, the AXIS IP camera has 1 alarm input and 1 relay output.

An event can be a signal from a sensor or a configurable motion detector, as well as the occurrence of a certain point in time specified in the schedule.

When an event occurs, the IP camera can send a signal to the relay output or a notification and/or an alarm sequence of frames to the alarm server (FTP, TCP, http, SMTP server).
